I had an amazing time at camp, words cannot explain how good it was. As much as I felt homesick at times while at camp, since being home I miss it so much. The kids are just amazing, they look up to you and want to know everything about your life in Australia.

Summer camp is a great American tradition. It was back in the mid 1800's that Americans began turning to the outdoors for inspiration and recreation at some of the first US summer camps. Today, around 7 million American children are annually attracted to over 12,000 summer camps located throughout rural America.
The Camp America program operates in over 30 countries and annually arranges jobs (June-August) for 10,000 for international staff at independently owned summer camps. Camp America is the largest and most respected provider of staff to US summer camps and in Australia, has been placing thousands of enterprising Aussies at summer camps since 1972.
This year, Camp America is on the hunt for over 1,000 Australians with sport, leisure or recreational skills to spend 9-10 weeks from June 2010, soaking up the sun at summer camp somewhere in the USA.
Activities in demand this coming year include swimming, lifeguarding, sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, tennis, soccer, horseback riding, archery, camping, hiking, arts & crafts, performing arts, working with special needs children and many more.
To apply for the Camp America programme candidates must be at least 18 years of age (no upper limit), are enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable, can work with children, have a skill in one or more of the 100 listed sport and recreational activities, and are available for a minimum of 9-10 weeks from June to August.
