I had an amazing time at camp, words cannot explain how good it was. As much as I felt homesick at times while at camp, since being home I miss it so much. The kids are just amazing, they look up to you and want to know everything about your life in Australia.

Why go to Camp? There is no better way to catch a glimpse of the world, to travel to the other side of the world and look after an amazing bunch of children! From what I heard and then experienced for myself, camp was 2 months of my life which I'd do again if I could.
What was your favourite part of camp life and why? The friends made, because every other counsellor there is in the same position, they want to have a good time at camp. The friends I made in USA were not just from America, but from all over the world. But there is no one favorite part, the kids I looked after were awesome! They were 8-9 years old and it was like being a big brother for 7 weeks whilst they were there. My camp was a Jewish camp, but had everything from frisbee golf to gymnastics. I went to camp being a go karts instructor then changed to be a cabin counsellor, which was so much fun!
What did you think of the USA? Amazing! My first day in the states was awesome, and just got better from there. It is just like the movies, from the yellow school bus to the HUGE Mc Donald's servings!
After camp I travelled around for three weeks with a mate from Australia had gone to a different camp in the same state, it was unreal catching up sharing camp stories. We crossed the country and saw all of the touristy sights like the Golden Gate Bridge, the steps that 'Rocky' runs in Philly, and then Times Square in NYC. Camp is one of the best ways to kick off a trip! After leaving the states, I went to 7 other countries in total and was away from home for 6 months.
