The American Institute for Foreign Study (Australia) Pty Ltd opened its Australian office in 1999 and began offering its Camp America and Au Pair in America programs to young Australians. In 2005, AIFS commenced offering inbound programs and currently facilitates cultural exchange programs for more than 2,000 young people.

Located just 2 ½ hours from New York City and Philadelphia, our unsurpassed facilities are set on 200 acres in Wayne County, Pennsylvania. As you enter our gates, you immediately get a feeling that Chestnut Lake is a special place. Friendship, spirit and excitement can be seen and heard all throughout camp. We have created a community where campers have the freedom and confidence to be themselves. Each staff member has 5 days off through out the summer and will have 3-4 nights off a week. During days and nights off we provide some type of transportation into the local town Honsedale, PA.
