Camp Chinqueka is a traditional sleepaway summer camp for girls ages 6-16 on Mt. Tom Pond in Connecticut. Camp Chinqueka has been run by the Ebner family for over 60 years. We have a brother camp, Camp Awosting, just 15 minutes away. We are just 2 hours from New York City and 2.5 hours from Boston.
Each week staff get a full 24 hour period off. They also get 2 additional nights off per week, from 9:00 pm till 12:00 am. They are able to leave the camp premises during this time. We have a rental car onsite that staff can rent for days and evenings off. There will be 8-10 staff off each day. Staff ability to leave camp during break hours is dependent on current state and federal COVID policies.
We are getting ready for another amazing summer with staff and campers from across the globe. We're committed to recruiting and hiring the best staff in the world. We hope you'll consider applying to be a part of our team! You could be exploring new exciting opportunities with friends from America, Europe, United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia and more! Applicants should be at least 19 years old and have completed one year of university or college beyond high school. If you have worked with children in any capacity, please detail this in your application. We hire activity specialists only, so please detail the strongest areas that you would be able to teach. We do not hire assistants, as most activities are operated by one single person responsible for teaching a particular activity program (ie: arts & crafts or gymnastics). Exceptions would be in the sports field areas and waterfront programs.
