Japan is one of the few places around the world where you can truly experience the snow that is known as champagne powder.  Japan is the destination on everyone’s lips and yet finding work there can be challenging.

That’s where we are here to help! Winter Work Japan secure you work before you leave home and then gives you on the group support when you need it. Want a gap year with a difference – Winter Work Japan is your answer!

Your Accommodation

Resorts normally provides a single or shared room for around 5000-35,000JPY per month.

You also get subsidized meals at the employee canteen for only 300 yen per meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Resorts will also normally provide free or discounted lift tickets.

Depending on the resort location you should expect the closest town to be 10-20 minutes by bus.

The Jobs

The winter season lasts from mid-November to mid-April and you will need to commit to a minimum of 3 months employment. Work is fulltime - (5 days per week x 8 hours) and your should expect you will work both evenings and weekends.

While no Japanese is needed, a basic level of Japanese (high school or beginners courses are fine) will open your application to more employment opportunities.  You can expect a monthly wage of around 160,000JPY.

Requirements

  • Are aged between 18-30 years old
  • Meet the requirements under the Japanese Working Holiday Visa
  • Are a high school graduate or equivalent

How to Apply

Once your online profile is completed, you'll be invited to attend an interview with one of our team before we start your placements process. you will then move forward to the matching process (the exciting part!) which is when you speak to potential employers. Again, we will explain the process, and questions that will be helpful to ask.

Once placed we will walk you through the last steps in order to prepare for your trip.
